HULL & DISTRICT BRANCH OF THE WORLD SHIP SOCIETY The Hull & District Branch of
the World Ship Society hold regular monthly meetings on a Friday at the Danish Church,
Osborne Street, Hull during the winter months. Most
meetings have a guest speaker and presentations usually include slides or a video. The
2009/10 programme is detailed below and is advertised in the Hull Mail, selected maritime
publications and through a link found on www.quaysides.co.uk. Why join the local branch of the
World Ship Society? ~ The Society is
suitable for anyone interested in ships young or old, male or female. Some members have a professional background,
others are enthusiasts but the common factor is they all read about, talk about, dream
about and look at ships! The meetings are a great opportunity
for members to meet with others to share their maritime interests. The committee aim to provide programme of interest
to all members. New members are always welcome. A quarterly journal is produced
called HUMBER LIGHT, which includes local shipping news, current and historic
articles. The editor welcomes members
contributions for publication. The Danish Church is situated at the
corner of Ferensway and Osborne Street, near the City Centre. Car parking is available on
the site and the bus terminus and railway station are within walking distance. Meetings
start at 7.30pm and the Danish Church provide refreshments afterwards. The annual membership fee is £8.00
per person (renewed every March) and members who attend meetings pay £1.00 on the evening
they attend. Visitors are welcome to attend

join. Meetings
