06-08/10/2018 – Hull & Zeebrugge

An early ‘cheap season’ Belgian dash for a day in Bruges, obviously allowing me some ship photography opportunities.

06/10/2018 – Hull.

On boarding I went straight on deck to try to get photos of the bulk carrier TZAREVETZ arriving,
but having taken IRISHMAN as bow tug it started to rain so quickly gave up on the idea.

As we started to clear the berth the rain had stopped, so on the berth views of TZAREVETZ were taken.

Also still in port was the KIRKELLA – Hull’s newest trawler.

At the cement terminal the SIDER ATLANTIC waiting for a break in the weather to continue discharging.

Deans Tugs largest tug, BEAMER sat between jobs.

As we pulled into the river, the sunset lit up the PRIDE OF ROTTERDAM.

There was just enough light as we passed Saltend to get WILHELMINE ESSBERGER.

07/10/2018 – Arriving Zeebrugge.

First movement caught as we approached Zeebrugge was the RIO BRAVO heading East.

Outward from Zeebrugge, the TENERIFE CAR heads West.

Running Eastwards along the coast, we crossed astern of the MSC ORNELLA.

Next outward from Zeebrugge, the car carrier OPAL LEADER.

Also running Eastwards along the coast, the CSCC TIANJIN.

Berthed in Zeebrugge, the USS NORMANDY (CG-60) on a port visit.

On one of the many Cobelfret berths in Zeebrugge, the ro/ro ADELINE.

The small gas tanker SIGMAGAS berthed at Zeebrugge.

BNS LEOPOLD I (F930) berthed in Zeebrugge – the former Karel Doorman of the Dutch navy.

VEMAHONESTY berthed in Zeebrugge – I believe she is used for bunkering duties along the Channel.

The large dredger BREYDAL sat alongside.

Returning back to the ferry on the evening, again straight on deck, the small coastal tanker NEW JERSEY berthed astern of us.

Returning to the tug base, the SMIT TIGER and UNION PEARL catch the fading light.

Another small tanker, the PRESTO, had just berthed opposite us, caught as we turned off the berth to head out.

The large LNG tanker RUDOLF SAMOYLOVICH had arrived at the gas terminal during the day.

Also having arrived during the day, the VENTURA  was in the process of preparing to sail.

The large ro/ro VICTORINE berthed at another of the Cobelfret berths.

As we headed out, MAERSK GIBRALTAR was preparing to work cargo having arrived only a short while earlier.

Returning into the harbour, the small dredger ARTEVELDE.

08/10/2018 – Hull.

An early arrival meant no photography on the river, on the container terminal the MARUS on the Hull-Ghent service.
